Westfield: What can you tell us about Agents of Talon?
Steve Zinngrabe: Imagine the military with superheroes, and you have Agents of Talon!
Talon is capable of facing the most difficult threats this world will ever face, and the first issue will focus on one threat in particular - Ivan the Dominator. Ivan is a descendant of Ivan the Terrible, and he runs a group called Dominious. When Talon discovers just how dangerous Dominious is, they respond by sending in a specialist called the Air Enforcer!
When I wrote Agents of Talon, I put a strong emphasis on developing a story that would entertain a 30 year old man, yet be clean and simple enough to hold the attention of a 4 year old boy. It worked. I read the book to my 4-year-old son and he loved it. And I know even the most critical adult will really appreciate the development and flow of the story.
Westfield: Will this lead to more books? Are you building a Triumph Universe?
Zinngrabe: The short answer is yes.
All the books we are publishing this year exist in the same universe, and we expect the universe to develop and grow even more. You'll have a few hints of how the universe ties together as you read all the books that are coming out this year.
Westfield: Codename: Black Death #4 introduces the character Smiles. Will he be showing up in other books?
Zinngrabe: Smiles is the ultimate hitman. He is fast, efficient, and he shows up when you least expect him. In BD #4, Smiles is included in a bonus story, and there is a hint that Smiles will be contracted to take out Black Death. One thing I can tell you for sure is that the Smiles bonus story is fast, furious, and it really shows you what he can do!
Westfield: What's on the way from Triumph?
Zinngrabe: In October we are publishing a graphic novel called Devil's Claw.
Devil's Claw is the story of one desperate man who is grasping for strength to make it through the most difficult trials of his life. At his weakest point, the Devil tempts with tremendous power and he falls prey to this power. From there, the spiritual struggle ensues. It is a phenomenal story with phenomenal art!
