It's the classic Ray Harryhausen sci-fi epic re-imagined for a new generation! Fifty years have passed the strange being from Venus rampaged through Italy, followed by 50 years of secrets, misinformation, and outright lying. Once the world was convinced that the Ymir was a hoax and the mission to Venus never happened, humanity was lulled back to sleep, ignorant of the truth. But no one counted on genetics and the years of secret testing! Breakthroughs created unintended consequences that could bring the Earth to its knees, and only an 11-year-old child can save it! 20 Million Miles More, presented for the first time in its entirety as a 96-page graphic novel, is both a sweeping epic and the personal saga of the Calder family. From the rampaged streets of Beverly Hills to the mystery-laden surface of Venus, 20 Million Miles More takes readers on a non-stop rollercoaster ride. [Scott Davis, Alex Garcia & Nadir Balan ]

Alex Raymond (w & a & c) IDW's Library of American Comics is producing The Definitive Flash Gordon & Jungle Jim as part of the Ultimate Alex Raymond Collection. The Definitive Flash Gordon & Jungle Jim will present every Sunday by Raymond from both classic strips together for the first time, in the oversized 12 x 16 champagne edition format. The artist's post-war modernist detective series, Rip Kirby, is currently being collected. Eisner Award-winner Dean Mullaney is editing and designing the deluxe editions. Although Flash Gordon has been previously reprinted, this-finally-is the first meticulously remastered and restored edition that prints the strip in a large size and in Raymond's original format that includes the Jungle Jim topper. We believe this will be the definitive edition for the ages. Created by Raymond in 1934, Flash Gordon is arguably the most famous science fiction comic strip of all time. It follows adventures of the title character and his companions-Dale Arden and Dr. Zarkov-as they leave Earth to discover the source of meteors that are threatening the planet, and gets waylaid on the planet Mongo, where they battle the evil Ming the Merciless. The three Earthlings encounter one strange race after another, from the water-breathing Shark-Men of the Undersea Kingdom, to the winged Hawkmen, to the ferocious Tusk-Men. All the while, Flash finds himself in the arms of one beautiful woman after another-much to Dale Arden's chagrin. Jungle Jim was created as a strip topper for Flash Gordon, and followed the life of Jim Bradley, who fought pirates, slave traders, and assorted villains in the exotic Southeast Asia of the 1930s. This neglected Raymond classic also features Jim's native cohort Kolu and femme fatale Lille DeVrille. [(W/A/CA) Alex Raymond]

Alex Raymond (w & a & c) IDW's Library of American Comics is producing The Definitive Flash Gordon & Jungle Jim as part of the Ultimate Alex Raymond Collection. The Definitive Flash Gordon & Jungle Jim will present every Sunday by Raymond from both classic strips together for the first time, in the oversized 12"" x 16"" champagne edition format. The artist's post-war modernist detective series, Rip Kirby, is currently being collected. Eisner Award-winner Dean Mullaney is editing and designing the deluxe editions. ""Although Flash Gordon has been previously reprinted, this-finally-is the first meticulously remastered and restored edition that prints the strip in a large size and in Raymond's original format that includes the Jungle Jim topper. We believe this will be the definitive edition for the ages."" Created by Raymond in 1934, Flash Gordon is arguably the most famous science fiction comic strip of all time.
Ming has been defeated! Long live Flash Gordon! Following the daring assault on Mingo City, peace reigns across the kingdoms of Mongo... or does it? The dethroned Emperor's reach is long, old enmities still smolder between rival Kings, and Flash Gordon, Dale Arden, and Dr. Hans Zarkov discover just how alien a world Mongo really is. In EARTH X, Captain America, the Fantastic Four, Thor, the Hulk and the X-Men discovered that their purpose - and the meaning of all super heroes and mutated people in the universe - was nothing more than to protect their host planet, in this case Earth, from outside invasion. They learned super heroes are merely biological antibodies to protect a growing embryo within the Earth. An embryo for the Celestial race: This is the way these Gods fought back - only to cause a terrible ecological imbalance, a rift at its core that in time would wipe out all life on the planet. In UNIVERSE X, Captain Marvel was reborn on Earth years after his death. But he also still claimed to walk in the realm of the unliving, where Earth's fallen champions still exist. Mar-Vell led a team of heroes in a quest for the greatest weapons of mass destruction on Earth, suggesting this would limit the destruction caused by the growing power struggle on the planet. But this was not the only reason. For his crusade on Earth only supported and armed a battle he fought in the realm of the fallen, a battle against Death herself. Those living champions who died in his collection of artifacts were added to the battle raging in this other realm. Mar-Vell led a charge against Death and killed her. But now that Death is dead, no one will ever die again. They may writhe in pain in hospitals because their bodies have been broken beyond repair, but they will not die. They will call out for an end to their suffering. They will cry out for peace but there will be no answer. Paradise will be denied them. Yes. Death is truly dead. Long live the living. Although best known as one of the greatest syndicated cartoonists of the 20th Century, Dennis the Menace creator Henry Hank Ketcham also spent nearly a decade as a gag cartoonist for major New York magazines like the Colliers and the Saturday Evening Post. In these gag cartoons, which were primarily published between 1942 and 1950, one can already see the endearing troublemaker that would become the protagonist in his long-running strip. (In fact, Ketcham in his Dennis the Menace cartoons, reused some of the gags and images almost verbatim.) Collected for the first time are hundreds of Ketcham's long forgotten magazine cartoons. Together, they provide a rare glimpse into what would later become one the most beloved comics to grace the comics pages! [Edited by Alex Chun & Jacob Covey]
