Some of the crew from Westfield Comics gathered this past Saturday for their second annual outing to watch local Northwoods League baseball team, the Madison Mallards, at the “Duck Pond.” The weather at game time was overcast and a balmy 51 degrees, making it feel more like September than June, but that didn’t dampen our spirits as we watched the Mallards defeat the St. Cloud River Bats 6-4. A pre-game concert by the Whiskey Lash All Stars, post-game fireworks, lots of good food (brats, hot dogs, burgers, peanuts), and good friends combined to make this a great evening out. This, for me, is what makes Westfield special. Not only do we work together, we play together. Here’s a look at some of the fun. And you’ll finally get to put faces to names you’ve heard and read about.
