Fifth Degree: Marvel annoys me, DC makes me happy

I’ve been a little mentally wiped-out the past few days, possibly because I could sit for hours (and have) reading Todd Klein’s logo studies. They’re great fun, but you shouldn’t go read them until you finish here. It’s just a little ranting; you’ll be done soon enough.
Beauology 101: When A Man’s A Man

Stan Lee, Jack Kirby, and Steve Ditko. Those are the three names of fame that most people mention when the media, global as well as direct market, speak of Marvel Comics and how it made comic book history in the 1960’s. Sometimes when the reporter has really done their homework, they add Don Heck, John Romita, Sr., Gene Colan, The Buscema brothers, and Dick Ayers. Personally, I am very pleased when they mention the true group of artistic creators that took Marvel Comics out of the shadow of all other mainstream publishers and made superhero comics the best of the new with the respect to what had come before.
