Less than $10 (USD, SRP) for four issues of this gorgeous, awesome event from Top Cow? It’s a little mind-boggling, I know. Sit down, sip a little warm milk – and if you’re one of those people who still insists Top Cow is just about T&A, throw that misconception out the window and take a chance on this book. Ron Marz is on his game, and Michael Broussard’s artwork has never looked better, in part thanks to the amazing contributions of Sal Regla, Rick Basaldua, and Sunny Gho.

Kevin Mellon may not be a name to familiar to you, but he should be! I’m particularly fond of his Scrap Paper Girls. Joining him on the book is B. Clay Moore, whose name you may recognize from the great tiki-inspired awesomeness that is Hawaiian Dick.

Sometimes one son of a dragon just isn’t enough. Brought to you by Darkness writer Phil Hester and Witchblade writer Ron Marz, this book brings their terrific teen creations together for the first time in a virtually double-sized story! Add in reprints of each character’s origins, and this is a perfect sampler for a new fan and a great refresher for long-time fans.

I wasn’t a fan of Stuart Immonen’s art when this story came out. Not because his art wasn’t good, but because the book just wasn’t on my radar. Thanks to this hardcover from IDW, I now have the chance to enjoy this story! Also, unlike the softcover collection from Dark Horse, this appears to be standard trim size! Need another reason to try this book: Kurt Busiek wrote it. If that won’t get you to consider trying this book, we might have to start seeing other people.

I may have stopped buying Transformers, but that doesn’t mean I don’t look forward to reading their adventures! The Timelines annual issues are always a blast to read!
