Comic Highlights This Week: Bryan Lee O’Malley’s Scott Pilgrim Volume 6: Scott Pilgrim’s Finest Hour is the final volume in the series and is the precursor to the release of the highly anticipated Scott Pilgrim VS The World Movie in theaters on August 13. And, if you can’t wait ’til Wednesday we will have the new Scott Pilgrim for sale first thing at 10am on Tuesday, July 20; HBO’s hit summer series that follows the residents of the fictional town of  Bon Temps, Louisiana comes to comics in True Blood #1; Joe Quesada ain’t giving up any clues about the outcome but he’s co-writing and co-penciling Amazing Spider-Man #638 , One Moment in Time, Part 1 of 4; Time Masters: Vanishing Point #1 (of 6) is a companion piece to the Return of Bruce Wayne mini-series following Rip Hunter and company;  GI Joe A Real American Hero #156 spins out of the FCBD issue #155-1/2 and hearkens back to the Joe comics from the ’80s; the Marvel Masterworks: Black Panther Volume  1 Hardcover collects the never-before-reprinted Panther’s Rage epic from 1973 ; Alan Moore’s Neonomicon #1 (of 4) finds the British auteur crafting an all-new tale of Lovecraftian horror; Boom Entertainment’s CBGB #1 (of 4) tells tales of the famed music venue by creators such as Kieron Gillen (Phonogram), Rob G (Couriers), Sam Humphries (MySpace Comics),  Marc Ellerby (Love The Way You Love) and Jaime Hernandez; writer Gail Simone returns to her retirement community for heroes and villains in Welcome to Tranquility: One Foot Grave #1 (of 6); and just 2 weeks after issue #74 we have The Walking Dead #75, but we’ll have to wait 1 more week for the Volume 12 collection! Waaaahh!!!
