DC Announces “Before Watchmen”
DC Comics has announced “Before Watchmen,” seven miniseries that are a prequel to the classic series.
Some interesting news has made its way out of the New York Comic-Con. It was announced yesterday that in January, DC will be lowering the price on most of their $3.99 cover price books to $2.99. As part of this price change, books with second features will no longer include those features and story pages will drop from 22 to 20.
Shortly after that announcement, Marvel announced that beginning in January their new books would be released at $2.99 instead of $3.99, but they did not say if any of their current books would be changing price.

While sometimes there are some noteworthy going-ons in the world of comics, there isn’t really all that much newsworthy. Combine that with my lack of anything else to ramble about this week and it looks like we’re going to be on an adventure of not-so-mythic proportions!
How it works: I’ll pretty much scan some comic book websites, sometimes click on links (and share them with you), and babble a bit about what I see and read!
But before I start (since it’s been lots of places before I got this idea), Scott Pilgrim’s six volumes have been printed in over one million copies total. That’s pretty awesome. Sidebar: I wonder how quick it would take digital sales to reach that number. Even more so, I wonder how it would look on a Kindle or a Nook.
With very little fanfare, DC has canceled orders for Brave and the Bold #36 (teaming Adam Strange and Lois Lane), by J. Michael Straczynski and Jesus Saiz, and no other issues have been solicited. Inquiries to DC have only been met with the answer that the title itself has not been canceled. This has been a terrific title and we hope it doesn’t get lost while JMS writes Superman and Wonder Woman. We’ll keep you posted!
The Batman: The Brave and the Bold Animated Series finally returns to Cartoon Network with new episodes at 6:30 pm on Friday, September 17 with the 2-Part Starro episode.
