Highlights This Week: Been enjoying Avengers VS X-Men so far? Well, get ready for some action as this week sees the release of AVX VS #1 (of 6). This once-a-month book will see two “bouts” per issue expanding on the name-calling and hair-pulling between two rival characters. The first issue spotlights Iron Man VS Magneto and The Thing VS Namor, The Sub-Mariner! Other AVX crossovers this week include: New Avengers #25, Secret Avengers #26 and Uncanny X-Men #11; Star Wars: Blood Ties – Boba Fett Is Dead #1 (of 4) finds one of the galaxy’s most feared bounty hunters being declared dead, but then finds the team taking credit being picked off one by one; Daredevil #11 is the final part of The Omega Effect crossover; Eisner Award-winning Roger Landridge teams with artist Bruce Ozella for Popeye #1 (of 4), the first original comic of E.C Segar’s classic sailor man in over 30 years; Captain America and Hawkeye #629 continues the numbering from Captain America and Bucky with 4-issue arcs teaming Cap up with various other characters in the Marvel U. First up: Clint Barton; Mass Effect: Homelands #1 is the first in a series of single-issue stories featuring Mass Effect 3 heroes, beginning with an untold tale of young gun James Vega; Airboy: Deadeye #1 (of 5) finds Chuck Dixon and Ben Dunn telling post-World War Two adventures of the teenaged fighting ace and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Archie 100 Page Spectacular collects the three-issue Archie Comics mini-series that adapted the first five episodes of the original animated TMNT series!
